Session details

Sessions are 45-50 minutes long.

I currently provide Telehealth services only. I am able to offer HIPAA compliant video services for clients within California.

The frequency of sessions can vary, but in the beginning it can be helpful to meet weekly or at least every other week. During this time we will focus on building an understanding of your needs and goals, and establishing a strong relationship. On an ongoing basis I tend to work with clients either weekly or bi-weekly.

I provide long-term and short-term therapy depending on your needs, style, and issue(s) you are presenting with. We’ll work together to figure out what works best for you.

Insurance

I am considered an out-of-network provider. Most PPO plans will reimburse members for mental health services at varying percentages. After paying for your session, I will provide a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company. I recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to inquire about their out-of-network policy. Here are some questions to ask:

  • Does my plan provide out-of-network reimbursement for mental health (the treatment code is 90791 (1x for initial visit) and then 90834 for all subsequent visits)?

  • What amount or percentage is reimbursed for out-of-network mental health therapists (you may want to ask specifically for clinical psychologists with a Ph.D.)?

  • Is there a cap to the "allowable amount" per session?

  • Is there a deductible I need to meet before you will start to reimburse me?

  • How do I seek reimbursement for out of network services?

Cancellation Policy

There is a 48 business hour cancellation policy. No shows or late cancellations will be charged the full session fee.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.  This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.  You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute this bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
